Jar cappers, sometimes called caps, make a huge difference in how well container candles burn. Candles that are in containers run into a problem as the wax level gets down farther and farther in the jar. This large silver heart jar capper is the perfect tool to help reduce the soot produced by 3 wick jar candles. The large holes in the center of the capper allows the hot air to flow out of the jar while the smaller holes around the edge allow the cool air in. This regulates or controls the flow of air, creating less turbulence in your jar which causes the candle flames to not bounce around as much. Soot is created by incomplete combustion of the fuel, in this case the wax. When the flames are disturbed and made to dance they are not efficiently consuming the wax, resulting in wasted fuel in the form of soot.
